A charity shop hoping to support Wiltshire's elderly has opened on Marlborough's High Street.
Supported by Wiltshire Council's 'Vibrant Wiltshire' vacant shop grant, Age UK's new charity shop will also act as an information and advice hub for Marlborough residents.
Customers will be able to find an array of leaflets from the free, quality accredited information and advice service, covering topics such as care, financial and legal advice.
"We are delighted to receive this grant from Wiltshire Council, which will enable us to realize our vision of an ‘age-friendly’ Wiltshire, with an empowered older population," said Sarah Cardy, CEO of Age UK Wiltshire.
"With this support, we aim to not only breathe new life into a vacant space but also to make a meaningful contribution to the vibrancy and vitality of Marlborough's town centre."
Age UK Wiltshire is a local charity that works to improve the lives of older people by tackling loneliness, promoting independence and offering practical support.
The new shop, located at 34 High Street, will open to the public at 10.30 am on Thursday, April 18.
"Each donation or purchase made at our shops directly contributes to the services we can provide," said a spokesperson for Age UK.
"We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey into retail and contributing towards a vibrant and thriving town centre."
