A village primary school has been rated by Ofsted for the first time since joining an academy trust, and walked away with a spectacular result.
Great Bedwyn CofE Primary School, located just outside Marlborough, has officially been rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in all areas, and staff could not be happier at the news.
The report joins the school's long line of 'Outstanding' results and inspectors found that pupils at the school flourish and display immense pride in their education.
Michelle Perrett, principal at the school, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the outcome of this Ofsted report, which is down to the hard work and attitude of every single member of our school community,
"I would like to thank my amazing staff team in particular for their ongoing support in making Great Bedwyn such a special and nurturing place.”

Lead inspector Matt Fletcher said that "pupils show a thirst for learning" which "begins as soon as they start school".
"Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary and they play happily and harmoniously together at social times. They are focused and respectful and celebrate difference and oppose any form of discrimination.
"The school has created a culture where pupils are resilient and take risks. Mistakes are seen as valuable learning opportunities," the report reads.
It adds: "Pupils make a difference to the world around them. Pupils ‘earn their wings’ as they move through a journey of personal development at the school, and pupils make a tangible difference to the lives of others, for example, by serving lunch to local elderly residents."
The report particularly praises the school for its "ambitious curriculum" which "meets the needs of all pupils well."

The school, which has a student population of 197, joined Excalibur Academies Trust in 2018, and this marks the first inspection since the change was introduced.
The school says it is designed to ensure that pupils have - in line with its motto - 'wings to fly' by the time they leave.
